Public bug reported:

If elasticsearch is installed and enabled, the combo box to sort search
results in any group Members page has no effect (group members can only
be sorted by "Admin first" and not by "Name A to Z" or any other
option). Note that text search still works, it's just sorting that is
broken.

Observed in 1.8 and in latest master
