Thanks for the bug report!

I was not able to replicate this issue on a clean install of Mahara
1.9.2. Here are the steps I took to try to replicate the problem:

1. Clean install of Mahara 1.9.2
2. Create a group
3. Enter the "General discussion" forum of the group
4. Create a new topic
5. Click "reply" to that topic and enter a reply
6. Click "reply" to the post I just entered, and enter a reply to that thread.
7. Repeat until I've posted 15 replies to one another

I didn't experience any slowdown in the page load.

Does this happen on every forum thread on your site, or only some of
them? And is it only on the page load after you post a reply, or is
there also a delay on the initial display of the thread?

And lastly, would you be willing to post a link here to an affected
thread so we can test it firsthand?

  Forum entry posting hanging during processing

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Adding forum entries to threads seems to be taking a long time to
  commit and is just hanging (does not load to show the newly added
  forum entry in situ). The entries are still successfully posting, a
  browser refresh confirms this and the notification emails go out but
  the page itself is taking over two minutes to load the new comment on
  its own.

  Mahara v1.9.2
  Windows 7
  Browser: Firefox ESR 31.2.0
