Thank you for the additional information.

You can already embed any iframe into a text box as long as the iframe
has been added to your "Allowed iframe sources"
http://manual.mahara.org/en/17.04/administration/extensions.html
#allowed-iframe-sources (YouTube works out of the box for example).

"Embed" and "object" should still work as well. though I haven't seen
any lately to try out.

We have a feature wish open to make the pasting of iframe code easier in
TinyMCE.

We haven't yet looked into an enhancement of tinyMCE similar to what
Moodle offered / offers where you can connect to YouTube or other
external repositories directly rather than needing embed code.

  Ability to embed Media other than images to Journal Entries

Bug description:
  The Journals currently allow only Text and Images to be posted as Entries. 
  In Healthcare Education, Videos, Audio and other rich Media are required to capture and demonstrate learning.

  Therefore, this feature request is to ask for the ability to post more
  than Images to the Journal Entries.
