[Bug 621153] Re: Add markdown as an alternative to WYSIWYG
Markdown has not come up in conversations with people. I think the vast
majority of people are more comfortable with a WYSIWYG editor than
learning markdown.

Title:
Add markdown as an alternative to WYSIWYG
Status in Mahara:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
Markdown is a really nice alternative to a WYSIWYG editor - it would
be nice to have as a user-selectable alternative to the WYSIWYG editor
in Mahara.
Project page is http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/
It does require Perl so I think, if it is offered, it should be a site
option.
markdown is available for Debian and presumably Ubuntu, or as a
standalone perl script, and it spits XHTML/HTML out the other end.
