Message #60268
[Bug 1896275] Re: Inactive folder block on group homepage
A change was put in to Mahara version 19.10 to change the way we view
artefact metadata and create comments. Instead of navigating off the
original view we stay on the view and a details modal is opened instead.
The view can also be put into details mode which changes the display of
the blocks on the view by adding in the details mode header which shows
comment counts where applicable. (see
https://manual.mahara.org/en/19.10/new.html for more information) This
would be part of the changes included in the upgrade from 19.04 to
20.04.
It was a conscious decision that accessing the details modal would only
display on portfolio pages and not on pages like the group homepage, the
dashboard etc...
A decision must be made into whether we now include the modal into some
of these previously restricted pages (and thus allow all blocks to
function as they do on portfolio pages) or we restrict what types of
blocks are allowed on these restricted pages.

Title:
Inactive folder block on group homepage
Status in Mahara:
Triaged
Bug description:
Since our last upgrade to 20.04.0 of Mahara, all group homepage with a
folder block are not operational, i.e. we can see the content of the
folder but we cannot click it (either to download it or browse a
subfolder).
It is a regression since the problem was not present prior to our
update (we went from 19.04 to 20.04 this summer).
I made a test on demo.mahara.org and the problem is reproducible on
this platform also.
