Please note the on Debian MariaDB 5.5. and 10.0 already builds fine
and all build tests also pass for PPC64.

The packaging source is at
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-mysql/mariadb-10.0.git and
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-mysql/mariadb-5.5.git but have not
so far been upstreamed simply due to lack of time. Getting 10.0 into
Debian 8.0 was a higher priority at the moment, but it is now almost
done so I can soon take up the task of splitting my packaging work up
into patches and sending them to you upstream.
