Re: [Bug 219562] Re: Autosurf locks up

Ok, I tested it, with and without the EPG showing; no difference.? It will eventually stop, at a random location, if I hit Autosurf again.? Acts like it comes up for air for a moment, and finally sees the button push, and stops.? It does NOT stop automatically after one pass.? And if you have a channel it can't lock on, it doesn't move to the next channel, it keeps trying that one, until you crash out of the program. Timing probably won't fix that.

Try adding 2 seconds to the surfing time, and let me try that.

I can certainly make the autoscan time interval configurable in the
configuration file as a simple solution. However, I would've excepted
that eventually the application will start responding again (when it
got to the end) if this was the only issue. It doesn't return right?
What if you autoscan without the EPG open?

Thanks for the page feedback, I'll update it as soon as I get the time.

Thanks,

Michael

in it, you can't get out.? It MAY be that is isn't allowing enough time to tune
between channels, and it starts to go to the next channel just as the previous
one finally tunes in, and never takes a break to look for button pushes to
cancel out. The channel display in the lower left corner only occasionally
changes, which may a symptom of the same issue.? This card takes awhile to tune,

which may be the problem.? Is there a way to make autoscan have an adjustable
delay?

Running 0.5.27 in Ubuntu 8.04 beta. Hauppauge HVR-1500, in ATSC mode.

Autosurf will consistently lock up the application. The application continues
to surf, and doesn't respond to pressing autosurf again, or any other button.
Hitting the close box in the window says that the app is not responding, and
gives an option to continue or quit now.

In addition, while autosurfing, the channel indication in the lower left window
frame never changes when the channel changes.

The log file shows nothing abnormal, and no error messages.
