I still think that your problem lies with GCC 4.4, can you attempt to
build using GCC 4.3 and report back...

Although, I have built this using kamric repo in pbuilder and all
compiled just fine (karmic uses GCC 4.4) so as another suggestion, is
there an equivalent to Debian's Alien in Fedora?
