Public bug reported:

Using Lucid, FF and acroread 9.4.2.  The plug-in for viewing PDFs in FF
has recently started to show distorted or garbled images instead of the
PDF.  Manually downloading the PDF and viewing with acroread displays
the PDF as it should.
