Semantic Interoperability Questions
Hi Joyce, Social Media please.
=============================================
Hi All,
We have made some really great progress for users interested in
discovering more about MLHIM. What it is and why use it.
Specifically 2 tools are now mature and tested. The questions referred
to are:
1) Is semantic interoperability between healthcare IT systems important to you?
2) Do you see how the MLHIM eco-system and tools can help design
systems that are semantically interoperable?
3) Is flexibility in system design important to you?
4) As a developer, can you see how MLHIM allows system design
flexibility while defining the foundation for semantic
interoperability?
Please pass these questions along to developers and healthcare domain
experts alike.
The xls2ccd tool will allow a domain expert to define simple concepts
in a spreadsheet and then generate Concept Constraint Definitions
(CCDs) from them. Simple concepts can be aggregated into more complex
CCDs through manual editing. There are a couple of examples of how to
do this included with the tool.
The ccd2hkcr tool allows for batch upload and metadata entry into the
repository.
The repository with instructions on the front page is located at:
http://www.hkcr.net
Domain experts may want to use the CDD 2.4.0 (XMind) template to
enable a visual representation of concepts to be turned into CCDs.

If you have any questions please let me know.
