I know this is off-topic but improving drag-n-drop caught my eye. Currently the windows get focus upon dragging. This makes it difficult to drag and drop in some situations. (Check the video.)
This problem is about to celebrate it's zillionth anniversary soon.
It turned me into an alcoholic for a while, as you can see from my lack of discipline in this Ubuntu Brainstorm here: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/3490/
The problem's origin is upstream, see: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76672
That was 2002.. :P omg sweet jeezus
If you read the description of this bug, you will read:
"by definition, 'click' is 'press and release', so metacity's behaviour is out of order."
As you can see this bug is ancient and major. Fixing this by making Metacity focus on release would make a great improvement.
Thanks for bringing this one up again, i started missing it already ;)
