BTW, the user response from those who have read my blog and made the switch seems overwhelmingly positive. A lot of people are permanently making the switch, so we have a lot of valid reason to pursue further implementation.

Exactly. Having insight into the different ways it is done is
important, for consistency as well as ideas.

If you have the opportunity: Yes, please provide screenshots – if
possible, cropped to the important parts you are describing. I for one
don’t know much about interaction with Windows 7.
