As a mud admin, personally, I would find this bad. Many MUDs use ASCII
art in one form or another, for example to layout tables, which would
look horrible with non-monospaced fonts.

(related: in MXP there is the possibility for the server to change fonts
in the client - if the client accepts that. In reality nobody uses that)
