This bug was fixed in the package mythbuntu-common - 0.43-0ubuntu1

mythbuntu-common (0.43-0ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * debian/control:
    - Drop nvidia-common to recommends. (LP: #396334)
  * mythbuntu_common/dictionaries.py:
    - Don't fail on an import error for the nvidia detection.
  * Convert the package to dh7.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: mythbuntu-common

The package mythbuntu-common is available in the ppc port archive but requires nvidia-common which is is not available on powerpc. Using Ubuntu 9.04 PPC with kernel 2.6.28-6-powerpc64-smp on a PS3.
