[Bug 537856] Re: Daylight Savings Time screwup

This is a known bug with MythTV, and the upstream developers have long
maintained that the complexity of fixing this within the scheduling
software (changing to UTC rather than timezone based checks throughout
the code) isn't justified when compared against the rarity of recording
during the DST change. If you happen to be a C++ coder, we'll be happy
to help get a patch submitted upstream.

Please don't let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening
tickets on any other bugs you find with Mythbuntu!

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV: Won't Fix

Bug description:
Mythweb shows a scheduled recording at 3:55 AM for 10 minutes. Myth front end also shows this to be recorded from 3:55AM to 4:05 AM, also 10 minutes.
The schedule shows that the show should start at 3:00 AM and run until 4:00 AM, an hour. This show happens to be on the day of the switch to daylight savings time.
Attached is a screen shot for mythweb.
So, MythTV is not handling daylight savings time correctly.

I also have this system set up to automatically power up before recording. I have had two previous systems (both windows, two different manufacturers of HDTV card) that would power up for recordings, and they both screwed up daylight savings time every time, so I know to look for this.

This is the latest version of mythTV. I tested the HDHomerun config for someone and they had me switch to automatically update to the nightly build of MythTV so I could test it, but did not tell me how to switch back. I don't know how to get the actual build number.
