[Bug 584232] Re: dns does not work in standalone
1. "Plain old properly configured LAN": A switched network with a router
offering NAT. The router being a Smoothwall Express 3.0 with isc-
dhcpd-V3.0.7 offering the IP number to a ISC BIND9 1:9.7.0.dfsg.P1-1
server.
2. "self-destruct" like overwrite my DNS configuration in
/etc/resolv.conf with blankness even when they are entered.
3. "Work properly" like every other machine with a functioning ethernet
socket I connect to the LAN: Detect the DNS servers trough DHCP and
utilize them.

Mythbuntu 10.04
This bug has been around for so long that it's probably a feature. If so, consider this a wishlist item.
I wish that domain name resolution was working properly and did not self-destruct on a standalone mythbuntu sitting in plain old properly configured LAN.
