[Bug 781034] [NEW] #86798 (Realtek no link) with mythbuntu 10.10 all daily updates

Public bug reported:

Hi Team,

yesterday I run into https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/86798 issue on my mythbuntu 10.10 with all daily updates: the onboard RealTek NIC did not detected a link or negotiated only 100 MBit. Only a cold reboot solved the issue.

On a mixed backend/frontend installation using a non-loopback IP for
database and communication it boots into the mythbackend-setup showing
language selection and country flags and is stuck there.

Using Google I found the solution to use the Realtek driver for r8169d -
which now happily autonegotiates Gigabit.

Please specify which logfiles you need to investigate.

Thanks, -MN
