[Bug 1099081] [NEW] Installing Mythbuntu 12.04 preserved the myth database, but deleted all recordings, videos, photos and music

Public bug reported:

I had a mythbuntu 10.10 (or so) install. After carefully backing up my
myth database, I used a USB key to install mythbuntu 12.04 over top of
my old system, selecting the installation option to preserve the myth
database, as well as all my media, and only upgrade the OS and myth
system. However, the mythbuntu install procedure preserved my
/etc/fstab file, and then deleted all files in
/var/lib/mythtv/{recordings,videos,pictures,music}, which were on
separate partitions from the root partiion. I know it deleted the files
(rather than reformatting the partitions) because one directory with a
name beginning with dot was still there, so the contents must have been
removed with something like rm -rf /var/lib/mythtv/videos. There's not
much point in preserving the metadata about recordings, videos, etc. in
the database when the media it refers to going to be deleted.

** Affects: mythbuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
