We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that upstream has moved on to a new version and believes
this to be fixed. Could you please verify if this issue still exists in
the latest version?

Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a
new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer
versions.

Title:
  MCEUSB IR transmitt not working 12.04

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
  Expired

Bug description:
  I have attempted several times to upgrade my working 11.10-0.25
  Backend/frontend. Everything seems to work other than a few frontend
  crashes (bug 990536) and failure of ir transmitt with mceusb.

  I have verified that all the lirc config files are the same between
  the two installs and still no ir blaster with 12.04.  Today I
  attempted to do a clean install to see if I could determine a problem
  with upgrade.

  I noticed that even though I selected both remote and transmitter
  during setup(mceusb and dctxxxx.conf), only the MCEUSB was configured
  in Hardware.conf. I manually configured the lirc config files in the
  fresh install to coincide with those in my 11.10 working install and
  restated lirc. I can now verify that the remote works and the ir
  transmitter does not.

  I used the same change_mce,sh channel change script (uses set 2) and
  verified that irsend set 1 did not work from console.

  I am stumped, but I am willing to try again if anyone has any ideas.
