I don't have my log's anymore I ended up breaking the backend even more
trying to fix it myself.

but what was going on is it couldn't connect to the mysql server it kept
saying failed password.

I changed the password on the frontend/backend/mysql  allowed mysql
accesses to to the world (although I haven't opened any ports on my
router) and still nothing.

I tried localhost, 127.0.0.1, 192.168.*.* and she would still fail I
even looked over .mythtv/config.xml to make sure that was all correct
with no white spaces ( don't know how many times that has messed up
someones day )

weird part was if I started the backend from the terminal it was fine.

I ended up chocking it up as something Mythbuntu Control Center broke and reinstalled the OS. 
this time not changing the default password and so far it's fine.

  Upstart issue and mythbackend

  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Strange problem with the backend during upstart on Ubuntu oneiric: the
  syslog tells me that the backend respawns too quickly and thus gives
  up on trying to start it via upstart.

  Steps to reproduce:

  1) Reboot system 2) Check with 'ps' and the syslog

  I changed the interface from lo to eth0 in the pre-conditions and also
  changed .5 to 60 in the script sections but to no avail...
