[Bug 967152] Re: MyUnity constantly writes to disk

I was able to reproduce this bug on two different computers with oneiric
and myunity 3.0.0-0ubuntu1~oneiric1. Anyway, I wasn't able to reproduce
it on precise with 3.1.1-0ubuntu1, so chances are this bug has been
fixed in the latest myunity release. I plan to upload 3.1.2 into archive
today, and then ask a backport to both oneiric and natty, hopefully this
might be enough to close this bug.

Title:
  MyUnity constantly writes to disk

Status in MyUnity:
  New
Status in “myunity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in “myunity” source package in Oneiric:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
For as long as MyUnity is running it causes constant writes to disk.
System Load Indicator reports about 250 kB/s and iotop reports about
15 K/s from a process with the command gconfd-2. It looks as though
MyUnity doesn't store the configuration upon actual changes made by
the user but rather periodically, regardless of whether the user
  changed anything.

  Ubuntu version: 11.10
  MyUnity version: 3.0.0-0ubuntu1~oneiric1
