[Bug 291308] [NEW] sbackup fills HDD when target is unmounted

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sbackup

OS: Ubuntu 8.04
sbackup v 0.10.4

I have sbackup configured on my laptop to backup to a remote drive
weekly. However, when I go on business/vacation travel, the external
drive is disconnected and it backs up to that remote directory anyway,
even when it's unmounted. This causes my HDD to fill up and everything
breaks down.

I had this problem once before when it was configured for the top-level
mounted directory, so I created a subdirectory this time. Now I find
out it happened again, because sbackup created the subdir when it didn't
find it. Both times this has happened, my hard drive overflowed, and I
have all sorts of weird problems for a day til I figure it out.

I need an option to disable sbackup if the target directory does not
exist.

** Affects: sbackup (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
