Public bug reported:

When nssbackup runs a backup while the connection to the Internet is disrupted email not send :-) .
That's not a surprise in itself but the log file is empty. I wondered why I didn't get an email. 
I am writing from a "development" country where the Internet connections are not so stable yet.
