Re: Arch Linux based dev vm

It's not hard to keep it user-friendly, see the example of manjaro, they put all you need (including Steam and Netflix) on a Arch-based distro. And they provide with all the yaourt and pacman power. At same way they put the distro in all flavors, from gnome and kde to openbox and awesome.

Downloading and seeding,

I don't have too much experience with Arch, last time I tried to install
Arch I failed miserably. I'm more used to Debian based distros, however
Arch could be an interesting base for the OS if we manage to keep it
stable for end users, kind of Linux Mint Debian Edition which is a
semi-rolling distro.

Well, I don't know if it'll be the base, but arch usually stays pretty
stable. I haven't had major upgrade issues for a long time. You
shouldn't have too much of an issue with this vm, it's setup to work
great in Virtualbox. The only editor I installed was vim though, so
those who don't use that should install their prefered editor.
