Do you still see this with the new Network-manager 0.7 (recently pushed
as an update)?

Switching from Static Wired to Automatic Wireless Loses DNS

Status in Dell Inspiron Mini with Custom Dell UI: Confirmed
Bug description:
Manually setup a static wired connection, specifying IP address, netmask, gateway, and DNS.
Wireless is set to automatic mode (default).
Using the wireless results in the loss of the DNS values setup for the wired connection.
As a result, the wired connection does not work the next time the computer is plugged-in to the network unless the DNS values are re-entered each time.
This bug has a workaround, but makes using the computer across multiple networks quite annoying.
