Hello Joe,
Thanks for your inputs. They are helping me to find out what has to be
improved.
The test goal should be described in the test case itself so if
there's any test
cases that doesn't make much sense, please let me know. As far as I
know, there
is at least one that runs a memory test, but the only thing that is
displayed is
something such as "Test passed". This is something that must be fixed
so I'm
asking all these doubts to Marc Tardif (checkbox developer), now that I'm
starting to get a feeling about how would I expect it to work.
Regarding test case execution, the only thing that can be programatically
selected is which test suite is run (in fact this is what
oem-qa-checkbox script
does), but I think that the only way to select test cases is to skip them
manually (or write a new test suite with the desired test cases).
If you want to have a better idea about the test suite contents,
please take a
look at:
/usr/share/checkbox/suites/oem-qa-manual.txt
and everytime you see a "command:" line, check the script with the
same name at:
/usr/share/checkbox/scripts
that's the better way to know exactly what it's done for every test case.
Best regards,
Javier

Hi Javier,
Where can I find *exact* descriptions of those tests? Can I control
which tests to execute and which not - or they will just be summary
executed?

Hello Joe,
There isn't any launcher at the moment, just type oem-qa-checkbox in a
console
and the tests will be executed.
Best regards,
Javier

Hi Javier and Chris,
I installed oem-qa-checkbox-additions_0.2-0ubuntu2_all.deb, but
couldn't
find the launcher in the menu system. Where is it supposed to be
located
(I'm running Jaunty)?
Regards,
Joe

Javier,
Running it now, it looks great so far, thanks!
Hello,
oem-qa-checkbox-additions is a new package available in the
launchpad
team PPA
area that is installed on top of checkbox and provides some OEM
specific test
cases. At the moment only some old test cases that were written by
Steve Magoun
are there, but the idea is to expand the number of test cases as
much as
possible either with manual or automated test cases.
If you want to give it a try, please install the package and run
oem-qa-checkbox. This is just a script that launches checkbox, but
that executes
only the OEM test suite.
If you have any problem and/or ideas for new test cases, please send
me an
e-mail or open a bug in oem-qa-tools project so that it can be
tracked.
Best regards,
Javier
P.S. This package doesn't include the apport configuration file
generation code
generation. This is still in the oem-apport-cfg package, though in
the future
they will be probably merged because both of them deal with checkbox
code.
