Dave, I tend to agree.  During periods during which changes for  
staging are small, it's doable to cherry pick from them into main, and  
that can be done weekly.  I don't think we're there yet, though.

Right.  If everyone commits to staging regularly, it shouldn't matter  
that main isn't updated regularly, as people will be working off  
staging (and are responsible for not breaking it with their commits).
