Re: l10n_ca updates consequences... and COA templates
Hello Guillaume,
There is no consequences as the module update will only change the template, without touching the COA.
As the error says, you are trying to create a new account with the same code as an already existing account. Make sure the code is not already used.
Do not hesitate to publish your code if you want some help.
Have a great day.

Hi,
Newbie in openERP, newbie in the team ,thanks for the work already done.
Such a system, under open licensing, is really great.
I am setting up the system for our coop.
I'm actually setting up the chart of account by adding some accounts, but also by modifying some of the accounts installed with the l10n_ca template. Before to go further, I'd like to know the consequences during the next updates if I've changed some accounts ? In particular for taxes and fiscal positions, are the accounts associated to a tax or a fiscal position hardcoded and can be overwrite by updates, in the case I've set different accounts for destination ?
I've also tried to set up a new COA template for our coop structure, in a multi-compagnies database, with the l10n_ca template as parent... I just set up the parent an try to load it for a new company, an error occurs, saying "the account code must be unique for each company".
Is it a bug ? Do I miss something about template inheritance ? Or is the functionality not yet fully implemented ?
Thanks
Guillaume
