Re: Feedback request: OpenERP Local Communities

Hello Olivier,

Everything you pointed out in your mail it’s ok for me. But, this doesn’t solve what we discussed before, about having an standard “template” or “website” for each community, with strong links between them, and so on.

I mean, your proposal is an improvement, but doesn’t solve problems like:

- Developments for each community that can be suitable for the main OpenERP itself (long discussed recently)

- Standard rules for applying to a local community, that would cause problems in the future if this is not clear enough. I stated for Karma rules in a previous mail.

- Our own test.openobject.com like page, for info of our branches.

- …

But, as I said, this is better than anything. With v6 development I suppose this kind of things are secondary, but I see a lot of community management lacks (maybe not OpenERP SA fault), and bigger improvements can be done.

Best regards.

Asunto: [Openerp-community] Feedback request: OpenERP Local Communities

Hello everyone!

Following the recent roll-out of the new openerp.com <http://www.openerp.com> website, and according to what we have previously announced and discussed on these lists, we are going to add a section for Local OpenERP communities on the website soon.

You will find below the description we are planning to publish.

What do you all think? Any other suggestion for the rights and duties of OpenERP Communities? Any key point we forgot to mention?

Thanks!

OpenERP Local Communities

With the incredible success of OpenERP around the world, locally-initiated communities have been given an official recognition: OpenERP Local Communities. Their purpose is to connect individuals and companies sharing the same interests: country or region, industry domain, language, etc., and they are not necessarily restricted to per-country communities. These groups actively promote, translate, develop and organize all kind of activities around OpenERP. Anyone is free to participate in a Local Community: individuals, companies, public institutions, etc.

To receive official recognition as an OpenERP Local Community, your team must satisfy a few criteria, in order to clearly identify the real communities out there:
·
· Promote or contribute to OpenERP
· Have a clear and public explanation of the goals and rules of your group (should be easily found on the homepage for your community)
· Be open to new members satisfying your community rules that want to join the group
· Gather at least 20 votes for the creation of this group (it could be facebook friends, votes on the community mailing-list, etc.)
As long as your community follows the above rules, OpenERP will ensure the following:
· Your community, its description, links and details will be listed on the official openerp.com website, in the Community section
· You will be allowed to use the official [OpenERP Community] logo
If you have not found any existing Local Community that satisfies your needs and feel the need to create a new one, please send the following information to webmaster [-at-] openerp [-dot-] com:
o
· The logo of your group (we will propose some logos, but you are still free to make your own)
· Link to the website of your group (can be a launchpad team or project, forum, blog, facebook page, ...)
· Link to the official communication channel(s) of your group (anything relevant: blog, forums, mailing-lists, twitter, linked-in, facebook, ..)
· A summary of the goals of your group in english AND in the language of your community
· Link to the page that lists all members of the group and how to apply for membership
· Plus, optionally (if these are not already mentioned in the previous items):
o Link to the launchpad page of your group
o Link to the Facebook page of your group
o Link to the Twitter account of your group
o Link to the list of events organized by your group (eventbrite, facebook or other)

Any update to the above information can be sent through the same channel.
