Thank you Stefan for your valuable comments.  The biggest problem with a
single commercial entity having "write access" over the "official branch"
is best demonstrated by MySQL.  Let's just hope this stays this way!

Choosing an ERP solution and implementing it today from scratch is much
easier / cheaper than having to migrate this a few years down the road.
