Re: V8: shop_id gone - are shops deprecated?

Hi,

Thanks for pointing that up ! While I was involved on the new WMS design
with OpenERP team, the decision has been taken to remove the shop object.
At that time, there was a lot of things to think about, and the focus was
put at all the huge work to built the new logistics system behind.

I do not remember the exact reasons that was involved at that time, may be
OpenERP knew more about that. But I remember that no real args were found
against adding the shop fields at warehouse object level to fit the new
logistics design. This new design will IMO brings so more that it worth the
pain. The analytic account (to have the turnover per sales canal) can be at
line level or global in SO now for example.

In any case, if we need more fields, it's not difficult to add as Mantavya
said, could as well be done in community modules. In our case, we'll need a
way to setup the analytic account

Regards,

Joël
