Subject: Re: [Openerp-community] Odoo and community

I missed the discussion relating to this name change.

Somebody has been smoking some strong weed. This is one of the daftess names I have ever come across.

In English, it reminds readers of a BAD SMELL - ODOO - ODOUR - ODOR , you could say that ODOO is only 1 R(se) away from a bad ODOR (odors are rarely good, if they are they are called something else).

In French I am reminded of ORDURE (ka-ka, dung etc).

As product brand names goes, it ranks right up with Ford Motor Company calling their compact sized Mustang replacement a PINTO (ask a Spanish speaker, if you don't see any thing wrong with that name).

Amongst Anglophones, the most common reaction to the word ODOO is a slightly naughty/puzzled giggle. Hardly a great basis to build a new brand upon. To use American-speak, its the sort of thing that babies do in their diapers!

Sorry it is a c_r_a_p name, a pile of odoo!!!
I am really sad to see this. It appears that there has been no reality check.
