There is a Makefile, at the root directory of the client project. That contains 
3 rules, the "translate_get", "merge" and the "translate_set" one.

Using the "translate_set" you can invoke the po->mo compiler.

Note also that gettext tools (like msgmerge, msgfmt) are programmed to exit 
with an error if the "python-format" strings don't match (eg. source="foo on 
%s", translation= "bar with %d and %s").
