Of course it is possible.... You need to set all components as "track incoming/Track outgoing lts" in product form to ensure a production lot/serial number is required

When validating an incoming shipment: enter the serial number for the raw material.

For manufacturing (consumption of raw material): in tab 'products to consume'  open the move line and enter the production lot from which you produced the finished part.

This is - roughly - how it works in OERP

Manufacturing Experts,

We recently have been working with an Electronics company and need to handle this requirement in OERP. Before starting development on it, we would like to know if someone in the community had already came across this and handled it gracefully.

Currently, it is possible to scan serial numbers for sub products (BOM components) going into the main product during the manufacturing order process. We need this same functionality but when receiving the main product. Eg: The main product is a DVR and the sub product is a Hard Drive. We can track the DVR by its serial but would like to have the ability to track the Hard Drive too. Is something out there which deals with scanning of the component serials along with the main product? Or any ideas to solve it?

Any assistance would be very helpful.
