[Bug 684849] Re: Translations are credited to the reviewer when a suggestion from another template is approved

This is actually a design decision. The reason is that many people who
get their translations used in different projects do not want their LP
homepage to say "this person has contributed to such-and-such project".
It especially holds true for those people who do not even use Launchpad
directly (eg. because Launchpad imports a lot of translations for
Ubuntu).

We don't have a nice solution to this problem, so marking as "won't
fix". If it was only me, I completely agree with you, but I am not sure
how to come to terms with those that don't want it.

Title:
Translations are credited to the reviewer when a suggestion from another template is approved

Status in Launchpad Translations:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
While translationg OpenERP, several persons in our team noticed that, when Launchpad suggests a translation used in another project and we validate it, the translation is credited to the reviewer.
The same happens if the suggestion is from a different template in the same project. We happen to have lots of templates with a good deal of duplicate strings.
We expected the translation to be credited to the original author, and only the review credited to the reviewer.

We use structured permissions, in case it matters.

Lionel Sausin.
