[Bug 934557] Re: (V6.1 purchase_order) Product should not be a required field

Hi Amit,

Precisely on Purchase Orders is where this feature is more needed, no
SO...

It is usual for companies to need supplies not defined on their product
catalog, and they need a PO to request them from their providers.

Just picture this: Most companies don't want to keep track of the
cookies they have for their employees, or the toilet paper... But to
get them from their suppliers they need to generate a PO...

Account moves have been always generated (when you approve the related
invoice), only stock moves are not (as expected because there is no
"stock" to modify for these cases).

On the other hand, if the company is selling something, that SHOULD be in the product's catalog, so it should be the SO the one that changed behaviour...

-Mario

Title:
(V6.1 purchase_order) Product should not be a required field

Status in OpenERP Addons (modules):
  Invalid

Bug description:
On Purchase orders, field "Product" should not be a required field.

A feature available in all previous versions is that when you need to
request something that is not defined in your products catalog, you
just leave the "Product" field empty and fill the "Description". V6.1
has the field marked as required, so this feature is not available...

It is working as expected on invoices and sales orders...

  Regards,
  -Mario
