I have made a new database using openerp-7.0alpha-20121206-000102
Install Accounting, Warehouse, Purchase, Sales
Configure Sales to Generate invoices after and based on delivery orders
I create a stockable product, purchase 10 units
Create a Sales Order, 1 SO line : 5 units
View Delivery Order, Check Availability, Deliver .. so far so good , 5 delivered

Create Draft invoice generates an invoice with 2 product lines:
Line 1 : 5 units (name only)
Line 2 : 5 units (with sales description added to name)

On a sidenote :
1/ When invoice is still in draft mode SO says status Done, Delivery says Invoiced ... shouldnt this be only after confirming draft?
2/ There is no link between the outgoing delivery and the generated invoice, i would expect to be able to go to the invoice from the delivery order?
