Bug#661695: still overwriting hotspot build flags

as mentioned in email, exporting CFLAGS etc. in debian/rules overwrites HotspotsCFLAGS. You only have to export/set these for jamvm and cacao (and thepulseaudio stuff). The proper solution would from my point of view is to setthese in the IcedTea Makefile when configuring jamvm and cacao (or make theseaware of EXTRA_* as well).
