The benefit of automated building would be that you would not need to
worry running it on your machine and you could just go to download area,
get latest openlp and do the quick series of tests.

  I'm not sure, how are windows builds created now, but I suppose that a
  new build is available when somebody creates it and uploads it to the
  download area.

  Nightly builds could be automated by creating a cron job (or use any similar tool) which would periodically every night:
  - checkout bzr trunk repo
  - create windows build (linux server with wine)
  - upload it to the download area
