Could you try to install libgstreamer? My guess is that it is missing,
or that some gstreamer plugins to decode the audio is missing.

  Unable to play linked audio in 2.4

Bug description:
  I am unable to get linked audio to play for songs in 2.4 (upgrading
  from the .deb file in comments on announcement post). We had no issues
  in 2.3. Terminal posts 'defaultServiceProvider::requestService(): no
  service found for - "org.qt-project.qt.mediaplayer"'.

  Ubuntu 15.10
