Re: Manager can't find Workstation
Hi Jussi,
Hi,
I added worksation but I can't see it on manager start window. Ping
works for any (ST GW, and google.com <http://google.com>) destinations
anyway.
In order to be discovered by the manager, the hosts need to contact it.
However, as workstations are behind terminals, they are generally not on
the same network as the manager ans thus, cannot be discovered.
There are a solution for that but first of all, do you really need a
daemon on workstation ?
This is only useful when you need automatic and dynamic routes or if you
wish to use some tools.
Otherwise, you can use a basic computer and configure your interface
with DHCP if server is enabled on the terminal. If you prefer you can
also configure the workstation interface and route manually: you can
either add a default destination or add a route for the emulation
network via the satellite terminal.
If you need details, please send me your network configuration.
I you really need a daemon on workstation you can add a new Ethernet
interface on your computer and plug it on the manager network.
In our platforms, we use 2 networks, one for emulation and the other for
management, so we can discover worsktations through the management
network. This is also useful to avoid sending statistics on the
emulation network.
Best regards,
