Can you try running the following commands in the terminal and post back
the results here.

Is "avformat" listed in the output of this command:
 $ melt -query "producers"

Also run this command:
 $ ffmpeg -i

Bug description:
import of movie (.mts, .wmv, .mpg) not working, movie does not show up in openshot.

import of .mp3 also not working.

also adding .ogg or .jpg files causes openshot to close

i am using ubuntu 9.04, build wizard 1.06, openshot version 0.9.43
