[Bug 454292] Re: Feature request: opacity masks

Hello Tony,

This is already implemented in OpenShot.

You can add svg grayscale images to the system by copying them to the
openshot/openshot/transitions folder.

To use as a mask instead of a transition, just place the transition luma
on the timeline. Then right click on the transition and select to
convert it to a mask.

I will convert this to a question because it is not a bug, and it is a
feature already in OpenShot.

Helen

Bug description:
I didn't know about the concept of Luma transitions and I'm surprised at how clever it is at combining power and simplicity.

Inspired by it, I'd like to ask the following feature: opacity masks for videos based on grayscale images.

This would allow fine-grained control over video transparency and allow a lot of cool effects.

Does MLT support this?
