I no longer have this problem after reinstalling various libraries,
including mlt. Kdenlive had the same problem on my computer, and now
both kdenlive and openshot are able to export without crash.

Ubuntu 9.04, openshot 0.9.52, openshot_wizard 1.0.6, FFmpeg version 0.5-svn17737+3:0.svn20090303-1ubuntu6

Can't export to this setting combination: Web, YouTube-HD, HDV 720 30p, High.

The GUI doesn't give any error indication, but the terminal window prints this:
[mp4 @ 0xb4fdad0]track 1: codec frame size is not set
