[Bug 486727] Re: Sound and Video doesn't synchronize

Unfortunately this is a problem with MLT, the library Openshot depends
on. You don't mention which version of Openshot you installed, or by
what method - but there have been various improvements in MLT in this
area. The version of MLT that Openshot uses in Karmic (0.4.4) is not the
latest - since that release there have been more improvements by the MLT
team - but we'll have to wait for the next Ubuntu release (as usual) to
use the current MLT version.

Can you check what version of MLT you have installed?

A possible workaround may be to make a copy of the clip on to another
track and mute the video on one track & the audio on the other and
adjust the position of the audio track so it is sync with the video. But
it depends on the complexity of your source material as to how well this
would work.

Status in OpenShot Video Editor: New

Bug description:
I tried out this piece of software, and it seemed to be very good and intuitive, but it has an essential bug, which makes it unusable to me:

I imported some flv-files I got from youtube, and wanted to cut some scenes out. However, OpenShot was unable to do this simple task without messing up with all the video and audio streams. While editing, and even in the exported file, the video was much slower then it's audio track.

(Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid)
