Status in OpenShot Video Editor: Fix Released

Bug description:
Please note that this is different from, but related to, Bug #486816 (Strange timeline zoom behavior).

Bug #486816 describes the unexpected result obtained when zooming in and out in OpenShot and proposes a new outcome (that after zooming in, the user's screen would still be centered on the playback cursor rather than at some point earlier or later in the timeline). The point of this new bug, however, is to address the UI aspect of this, and propose an easier way for the user to trigger such a zoom.

Currently, to zoom in OpenShot, the user must break away from the timeline and move over to a zoom slider (whose behavior described in Bug #486816 makes things difficult for the user).

Instead, I propose that the user be able to zoom in and out without ever leaving the area where he/she is working. The user should simply hover the cursor over the timeline ruler above where they intend to work, and scroll the scroll wheel up to zoom in, and down to zoom out. This makes for very easy navigation in other video and audio editing workstations, and is similar to zooming other programs that are zoom-intensive (like Google Earth/Maps, etc.)

This sort of change would help OpenShot to become quicker and more intuitive, cutting down on extra work the user needs to do to zoom in and out in a project.

Thanks for listening!

-Mark
