[Bug 505601] Re: app exits when exporting video, file made but with no data
As I said in my comment I have installed the -extra-packages. This is what Synaptic did:
libavcodec52 will be removed
libavformat52 will be removed
libavutil49 will be removed
libavcodec-extra-52 (version 4:0.5+svn20090706-2ubuntu3) will be installed
libavformat-extra-52 (version 4:0.5+svn20090706-2ubuntu3) will be installed
libavutil-extra-49 (version 4:0.5+svn20090706-2ubuntu3) will be installed
libopenjpeg2 (version 1.3+dfsg-4) will be installed
Are there anything else that I have missed?
As I also said, I still can't export HD videos for Vimeo or Youtube,
iPod or MPEG4 (Xvid). (These formats are examples, I haven't tried all
available formats).
I think it's reasonable for a user to not have all encoders installed,
but then OpenShot should communicate that to the user, or perhaps not
even have the failing formats available (or active).
Is that something that can be handled as a solution to this bug, or
should we file a new one with that specific solution in mind?
