[Bug 509974] Re: OpenShot gets slower as you add more clips to the timeline
Thank you! I am glad that this is seen as a serious problem. I already decided not to use Openshot anymore because it took me hours just because of this slowdown (at the end with more files 40 seconds!). Also the (sadly not so important) undo function made me worrying a bit.
However, this makes me thinking about if I maybe should change my mind and use it again when the performance is increased. I dunno about the undo function yet. Maybe I can get over it - even if I think it is the second most important point... ^^ (I tried KDEnlive, a fabulous programme! But I made it crashing 5 times within 10 minutes - way to often :-/ Openshot is much better in this aspect...)
Thank you a lot for your work! :-)

Bug description:
When I have about 100 JPG photo files (about 10MP) Openshot get's REALLY slow. Up to 10 seconds just to change the position in the timeline (programme gets grayed out in this time). CPU: 100%, RAM: 33% - so RAM is not the problem. The CPU is a Dual Core 2GHz (Intel core 2 duo CPU T5870 @ 2GHz). Is that too slow??? I wonder because everything is fine with only a few files.
Thx,
k_s
P.S.:
Ubuntu karmic koala 9.10
Openshot 1.0.0 (ppa)
