[Bug 538834] Re: The following formats/codecs are missing from your system: libx264

See also: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openshot/+bug/508123

I have the same problem. There are some problems with the installation
of FFmpeg and MLT, (also take a look to their sites) that I do not
understand yet, as those programs are used as lower layers by several
video programs, it seems that the end installations place those programs
in different places with different libraries. (/usr/bin and
/usr/local/bin) in a conflicting configuration.

I used medibuntu, to install the programs, I can import my videos from
mts files (AVCHD) but not to generate them.

The real reason of the problem, as you may already know, is a legal
limitation that prevents open source software to build compiled
distributions for all the world (literally, l mean all countries)

Bug description:
Hello developers,

Thanks openshot for the new version, which actually works quite well.

I get the export on my Ubuntu 9.04 with openshot 1.1.0 following errors:
The following formats/codecs are missing from your system: libx264

I selectet to export the following settings: - All formats - MOV h264 - DV Pal Widescreen - High

I have downloaded all the packages from the website.

Are there other dependencies?
In a ubuntuforums, it was recommended the package ibavcodec-unstripped-52 to install.
But this is already available.

regards
