Openshot is virtually useless for me now. Every video I edit gets this problem (tried wmv, mp4, avi, mov). The size, aspect ratio and length are not relevant.

Bug description:
When trying to edit a clip, video appears to play at double speed whilst audio plays normally (whilst stuttering) in the preview and after the video has been rendered. The videos in particular this happened with were fairly long (30 minutes +), 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10 and formats as follows (according to Nautilus):

H.264/AVC 320x240
AAC

DIVX MPEG 4 Version 5 720x528
MP3
